This is the ULTIMATE romance. The H is strong, arrogant, sexy, a real hubba, hubba. I love my husband, but I wouldn't mind the H parking his boots at the end of my bed. The h is spunky, funny, curious, and a delight. I truly enjoyed this book. I decided to read all 5 books before I wrote a review, to get a feel for them and a better understanding. They are all worth the price and time it takes to read them. In fact, I didn't want them to end. There were some errors and I had to re-read some passages to figure out what was meant (got he and she mixed up, additional words in a sentence, etc.), but all in all it wasn't as bad as some books are.

There is one blechy thing I want to mention -- the H stated he had slept with other femwolves (and only femwolves, never a human) and I'm assuming they were all in his pack b/c in his pack the wolves can sleep with other wolves w/o having to marry them, unlike other packs. I would think his clan isn't a huge clan (like 1000's of people), so that means wherever the h walked throughout the castle/bailey, she would meet the other femwolves who had slept with her husband. Of course, she wouldn't know who they were, but just the thought is an ICK to me - whoever wants to meet their husband's old lovers???? Not so much. Minor thing, but................

I love paranormal stories. This story I was excited for. It started off and continued to be such a good read with SO much potential....but then toward then end felt SO rushed and completely left me hanging with disappointment. Truly the books was a short-ish read which afforded her to delve further into making this story a much more richer more fulfilling experience.

Further...I actually thought many times the author was hinting to the soon to be discovered fact of Emily being a werewolf (unmated and unchanged and unaware) once her and Lachlan mated. Her ability to hide her fear from the other werewolves. Lachlan constantly comparing her attributes to a femwolf.

They finally mated and it was basically "The End". So anti-climactic!!

I'm afraid to even bother wasting my time...and money (her ebooks aren't cheap) on yet another book of great potential, being rushed and falling flat.
What I loved most about this book was that it was a wonderful blend of both historical and paranormal romance. I have not read this type before. I have read many paranormal romances and many historical romances, but none that blended the two together, so for me it was great!

The main characters-- Emily and Lachlan-- are great together. Emily has tons of spunk and Lachlan is an alpha-male and together they make a great team. The secondary characters are also fantastic and Lucy Monroe dedicates a nice part of the book to them (which was fine, in my opinion).

Lucy Monroe does a wonderful job of really making you feel the joy and the pain that the characters go through. And thankfully, she doesn't drag the pain part on too long (like some authors like to do).

If you like historical romances, I highly recommend this book. It is a nice change of pace from the same old, same old (and yet it still has enough of the same old, same old to feel comfortable).

I am very much looking forward to reading Abigail and Talorc's book next and was glad to read on the author's website that there will be a third book in the series later in 2010 or early in 2011.
This might have been a good book except for the tedious, constant over thinking of its characters. Every single action is thought over ad nauseam. I don't think I have ever read a book more given to self analysis. After the first couple chapters, it was just boring, boring, boring until I was muttering to myself, just get on with it. stop thinking about it, just Do It. Whatever it was.

Sometimes self analysis can be interesting, but the character of Emily was just boring. We don't need First Person point of view for every character. Sometimes actions do speak louder and better than words. Not only is every characters' thought process drawn out, but the characters talk and talk and talk. In truth, I had to force myself to finish the book.

Make your own decision about buying this one, but don't expect much as their isn't much here.
When Emily Hamliton's family disobeys the king, he decides to punish them by ordering that one of the daughters be given in marriage to a Scottish laird. Rather than give up her favorite daughter, Emily's stepmother comes up the idea of sending Emily's youngest step-sister, Abigail. Emily can't allow that to happen, Abigail is deaf and Emily believes she surely would be mistreated because of her handicap. She quickly offers to take Abigail's place as the Scottish Laird's bride. She soon finds herself living with the Sinclair clan where no one likes her and bethrothed to the Sinclair laird who has no desire to have her as a wife. She's not sure if things have gotten better or worse when she and her finace's sister are kidnapped by a rival clan.

Lachlan is the laird of the Balmoral clan, and the leader of his werewolf pack. When Lachlan went to steal the Sinclair laird's sister, he never intended to take Emily too. He's sworn never to take a chance of having a son who can't shape shift by marrying a human, but everything about Emily has him fighting to keep himself from claiming her. As an enemy inside attempts to put the Sinclair and Balmoral clans at each other's throats, Lachlan must face his own desire for Emily. He needs to decide if his growing love for her is enough to set aside what he's always believed would be best for his clan.

Moon Awakening is simply awesome! I just can't put it any more eloquently! From page one I was entranced. Stunningly sexy and emotionally riveting, Lucy Monroe has given us a paranormal romance that made me literally lose myself within the pages. Moon Awakening is easily one of the best paranormals I've ever read!
