FRACTURED The Caged Series Book 5 eBook Amber Lynn Natusch
This drew me in like all the other ones in the series thus far. Maybe considered spoiler alert ......it was interesting to read only from Ruby's POV instead of bouncing back and forth between her and scarlet. I was a little peeved with scarlett after the last book so I was glad about her absence in this one. Super pleased to see their pack grow. Still completely mystified as to what gavin knows and why he just wont tell her already, cant wait to find all that out!!! Lovely read but hated to see matty truly leave :(Tags : FRACTURED (The Caged Series Book 5) - Kindle edition by Amber Lynn Natusch. FRACTURED The Caged Series Book 5 eBook Amber Lynn Natusch Reviews
I'll start by saying, I loved Fractured! If you haven't started reading the Caged series, you're missing out! There are books I like/love in a series, but rarely do I LOVE the entire series, this is one of them.
The new characters in this book, add to the dialogue & fit in perfectly. Boy oh boy Sean, he's simply his best in this book. Major swoon moments. I really started to get a better perception of who Sean really is in this book & I liked it. Cooper steps up & my adoration for him only grows. Peyta does a lot of growing up in this book & I really don't want to say much more, no spoilers. Gavin, Gavin, Gavin, he's baaaack, as well as Ginger, Alan, Jay, Ronnie & maybe Scarlet, maybe. As for Ruby, there's no way to begin to explain everything that happens there. Again major highs & major low sad moments, but all were perfect.
As always the character development is superb as well as the story line, flow & editing. I would say this book really does take you on an emotional ride, ties up some lose ends (some), shocks you speechless, closes chapters that you'll feel at your core & opens new ones that will leave you needing more. The Author has a way of making you want to kill a character one minute & love them the next, in a real genuine way. By the end of Fractured, I was ready to go back & reread the entire series again. At this point I can't remember how many times I've read this series, but YES it's THAT good! )
I love so much Amber's sound tracks for the books. I listen to all songs she mentions. After first books I was listening to Gravity for a really long time. After this one - I'm listening to Take care by Drake non stop. I was listening to it while reading the part in the book where it was mentioned and I need to say, it stronger the feeling and my perception of the emotions in this moment, so soon I found myself crying.
This book got a lot of new characters, new lines in story and as usual a lot of new dangers! Even after everything Ruby keeps her issues with Universe and just keep in challenging Death… Thank God Sean is always there, by her side to save her again and again… I think Ruby became his hardest task, and even more, keeping her save.
Just as the previous ones, this book is really great, interesting and full of everything we love about Amber's writing )
So listen to her music and enjoy the reading )
This is by far my favorite book in the series. The emotional journey that Ruby endures is heart wrenching. You will be sad, frustrated, swooning, then cursing up a storm, but, most importantly, you will be reminded of all the reasons you fell in love with Ruby from the beginning. Amber has a way of writing that is truly magical. I was constantly giggling over the banter between Cooper and Ruby (or wanting to smack him upside his head), or smiling while Ruby and Sean talked. The ending does not have a typical cliff hanger. It is part of a series, so not all of the questions can be answered. There are just enough to drive you crazy, but not so many that you are in a "need the next book now" situation. It is wonderfully written. I am sad to see that it is over and I don't think a book can get a better compliment than that. As I've already said, it is simply amazing. If you haven't read this series, then there is something wrong with you. Just make sure you have a LARGE time block to read it because once you start, you will NOT stop. Happy reading!! )
I would not feel right giving this series 4 stars but I think 3 & 1/2 are fair. I did like this book best because I felt like for the first time I got a glimpse into Sean's character. There is so much going on all the time in this series that I think the author uses the trauma and gore as a way to avoid really telling a story from the protraganists point of view. Ruby is the main character and from her eyes the story is being told. However the characters in the book go from one calamity to the next with brief breakdowns and then onto the next tragedy, trauma, life or death scenario. There really isn't a lot of character development and that is what this series lacks.
The good points are that the author is great with humor.......there are some laugh out loud funny moments is this series which helps take out some of the intensity. Even though this series is about the supernatural.......it is still way too unbelievable!! But with that being said I am still glad to have read it. I was disappointed after the first book and almost didn't get the second but in the end I'm glad I did.......flawes and all.
I think this book and the last have been the best and most insightful when it comes to Sean.....who is sort of an enigma. The whole Cooper-Sean-Ruby triangle is great too and I'm not sure yet who I'm routing for. However I may lean toward Sean.......there is still too much unknown about him, where Cooper is hands down good for Ruby and Scarlet. But however it plays out I'm sure it will be dramatic. If I've learned nothing else about this series I have learned that it will be dramatic.......lots and lots of drama.
Not sure if I helped you make a decision about the series or not but that is all I can say without giving too much away.
I am not sure how some serious readers will take this series but what I can say is that while there are a lot of short comings the books do get better as you go along and the humor alone was worth it for me. I own a reader so it wasn't too expensive and I'm not sorry I purchased it but with that being said it could be a whole lot better if the author took it down a notch or two and really delved into the minds of the main characters.........especially Ruby and Sean. Will see how it plays out.
